The idea of a powerbank that can also doubles up as an emergency booster battery to help jump start your car might seem like a good idea on the surface. Unfortunately due to the lack of any proper standards or any big brand name backing it, we think its a receipe for disaster as this video shows.

Personally, we feel you're better off regularly monitoring your battery with an inexpensive multimeter such as the UNI-T UT33C or be proactive and maintain your battery with a Bosch smart charger like the C3 or C7. If you're caught out, just utilise any one of those online battery services that delivers and will even change your dead battery anywhere within the Klang Valley - even right by the roadside.. only downside is having to wait 30 minutes to an hour for the battery to arrive!
