While we're not sure if Black & Decker would actually bring in their recently announced 12V GoPak System into the Malaysian market, we're happy to see another out-of-the-box idea with their 12V MAX lithium tool battery as a direct USB power source to charge or power external mobile devices.

The GoPak System consists of a line of tools powered by the 12V MAX GoPak battery available as a four-tool combo kit and includes a drill-driver, jigsaw, detail sander, LED work light and the GoPak battery itself. While there was no mention in the press release, we suspect you won't be able to charge the GoPak with your existing USB charger as it's a 12V pack and USB chargers only delivers 5V.

Unlike Makita's approach with their ADP05 adaptor with two 2.1A USB ports that works with their 18V lithium-ion battery, the Black & Decker 12V GoPak has a single 2.4A USB port built directly into the battery pack itself allowing you to use it just like you would a powerbank.

The GoPak battery is available separately at a MSRP of US$39 which at the point of this post is around RM165 with no mentioned of amp-hour rating of the GoPak.
